Ear Nose Throat Specialists of Alaska is Hiring a Medical Front Office Receptionist Near Wasilla, AK

We are a fast paced multi provider office with different specialties, seeking a candidate that can easily adjust to daily changes depending on the specialty providers that are here on any given day.

Front AND back office experience preferred, but willing to train the right person which may include rooming patients, charting, RX refills, cleaning/sterilizing equipment

Daily duties include but not limited to:

  • Answer telephone
  • Answer questions knowledgably and professionally
  • Schedule appointments according to guidelines
  • Check and return messages throughout the day
  • Ensure patient forms are filled out fully and signed
  • Check in patients and make charts for new patients, confirm established patients info is correct and up to date
  • Check out patients/collect payments/re-book appointments
  • Make sure written referrals are received by appointment date for new patients as needed
  • Processing Tricare and VA authorizations
  • Verifying Medicaid eligibility, obtaining prior authorizations for in office CT’s
  • Files charts and miscellaneous patient information
  • When using supplies out of storage, alert office manager when the second to last item is taken so more can be ordered
  • Pull established patents’ files for following day
  • Prepping, calling to get any imaging/labs/reports/referrals that was requested by the physician at the prior appointment. Or if they are a new patient, all pertinent reports (if any) are already on the chart before the physician goes in to see them
  • Make copies of needed forms and documents
  • Keep waiting room neat and tidy and brochures stocked.
  • Create spreadsheets for reports
  • End of day closing/balancing
  • Follow HIPPA rules

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
